Cross country skiing from Trollhaugan to Familiedalen, Reinosthellaren and Gohøla!
For the locals there is nothing that gives a better feeling than driving up to Trollhaugan, park the car, and ski towards Reinosthellaren. During the Easter holidays, the area tends to be buzzing with skiers and families out on a daytrip.
During weekends and public holidays there are normally fresh tracks starting from the large car park on the border between Saltdal and Bodø municipality. (Trollhaugan)
The trail and area are suitable for all ages and fitness levels!
The first stop is Familiedalen, and as the name suggests, this is a natural destination for families with children. Here, the adults can dig out a nice bench from the snow where everyone can sit and enjoy hot chocolate and Kvikk Lunsj.
For those who want to go a little further, the trail continues towards Reinosthellaren. Here it is perfect to make a small fire and grill some hotdogs, due to the natural rock formations in the terrain that provide shelter from the weather.
The most eager skiers like to go all the way up to Gohøla, high above the tree line. Although it leads steadily upwards, there are no parts that are so steep that it is not suitable for normal cross-country or mountain skiing.
