Rognan Airfield

Rognan, like Bodø—though without further comparison—has an airfield within walking distance of the town centre. The area is fenced and well sheltered by pine forest.

Rognan Airfield and Saltdal Flying Club

The airfield is located on the eastern side of Rognan town center and features a 650 m x 45 m grass runway. It is open during the summer season, typically from late April/early May until mid-October.

The airfield serves a wide range of purposes and activities, including as a landing site for light aircraft and helicopters, skydiving, paragliding, training flights, a base for the local flying club, and as a landing site for rescue helicopters. Nordlandsfly/Helitrans has also established an outstation base here.

Saltdal Flying Club sees great potential in the airfield’s central location, allowing tourists and visitors to arrive by air for various experiences and activities in Saltdal.
