Saltdal Folk Museum
Saltdal Folk Museum is part of Nordlandsmuseet, and is centered around a classic Norwegian "Skippergård". Located together with the Blood Road Museum.
Skippergården
The white-painted Skippergården is the very heart of the museum. In the summer season, it houses a cafe and a souvenir shop on the first floor, while the second floor is devoted to a photo exhibition with local historical motifs.
The farm was originally the home of skipper Ellingsen and his family from 1750 to the end of the 19th century.
The Museum area
The rest of the Museum area consists of around twenty buildings from the 17th-19th century. The firehouse and schoolhouse are just some of the houses along the museum trail. Here you can enter on your own and discover the various exhibitions.
Boat building tradition
The boat building traditions in Saltdal are widely known and in the museum there are two Nordland boats.
Location
2 km north of the center of Rognan.
