What is traditional haymaking?
Before tractors and modern machinery, hay was cut with scythes, dried in the sun, and brought home by horse and wagon. In Saltdal and across Northern Norway, haymaking was an essential part of summer – not just for survival, but as a community tradition where neighbours gathered to help each other before the weather turned.
